A unique design from my lino cut recipe series; each tile is an ingredient, that when tessellated together, form the recipe for a delicious Yorskhire Steak and Ale Pie; beef, ale, onions, carrots, mushrooms, stock, bay leaves, parsley, Worcestershire sauce and English mustard.
Also depicted is a highland cow in the Yorkshire dales to create a true Yorkshire inspired image.
This design is available as;
A Tea Towel; (76 x 48 cm), made from organic cotton, very absorbent, hard-wearing and fully machine washable at 40 degrees. The cooking instructions are on the packaging
Brown steak pieces in a casserole, followed by the
vegetables, thyme, seasonings, Worcestershire sauce,
mustard and ale; Stir well and simmer for 10 mins.
Add stock, cover with a lid and cook for 1 1/4 hours.
Allow to cool and place the mixture in a pie dish;
brush edges with beaten egg.
Roll out puff pastry and
cover the dish pressing down the edges, brush with
beaten egg and make a small slit to allow the steam
to escape during cooking
